Sky Garden birthday treat

It was my birthday recently and I was very fortunate to be treated like a princess and taken to Fenchurch Street restaurant at the Sky Garden in London. Sky Garden is one of those places in London that you should make time to go to! It is great to just go for cocktails and it is free entry to the bar but make sure you book because it gets booked up way in advance. It is like a little rainforest there and the views are amazing! Until I got my bearings in London, I always used to think of the Sky Garden building as just a “very windy building”. If you work/live in London you will know exactly what I mean about windy buildings! I have had to change what I wear walking down the street everyday here so that I am not blown away some days.

 

The Fenchurch Street restaurant doesn’t disappoint. The food was incredible and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Even the little touches were stunning such as the homemade bread and butter before the meal even began. They also brought out a decorated plate with “Happy birthday” at the end – such a lovely surprise. For starter, me and my boyfriend shared a rabbit bolognese and this was delicious. It was more like a medley of tasty bites than a traditional tomato bolognese which I loved. For main we both had fish. I had the dover sole and it was so beautifully presented. We also shared a dark chocolate and passionfruit ganache for dessert. Chocolate is always my favourite way to end a meal and the passionfruit gave it a freshness and something to cleanse the palette. Overall a beautiful meal and definitely a fantastic birthday!
