My Face Needs This

Pamper evening…..face mask I hear? Exactly!

I do love a good chill out evening and I know in the modern world this is hard to grab when there is so much pressure to squeeze everything and anything into our days. But it is really important! You need to look after yourself in order to achieve great things in life and slowing down and pausing for an evening is a must! Looking after your skin is a nice way of relaxing and I try to do a face mask once a week in order to keep my skin in good condition and fighting spots and all that jazz. I thought I would show you three face masks I am using at the moment and why I love them…

The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3 In 1 Moisturising Scrub Mask

My Holy Grail. First of all the ingredients in this sound delicious without applying anything onto your skin. Honey and oat are things you would normally see on your breakfast table but they really work! The oats act to exfoliate the skin and the honey soothes and moisturises. The gentle nature of the mask is perfect for my sensitive skin and I feel so chilled out after using it. It is not a harsh formula and feels more like a pamper product than a spot defeater. I love this when my skin needs a little attention but without needing a full on clean out!

The face mask cleanses, polishes and moisturises all in one and suits normal to dry skin. I have combination skin and so this is perfect for me. I do love The Body Shop products and they don’t test on animals and so this is always lovely to know! One sad thing is that they are discontinuing this facemask. Noooooo! But hopefully I will find a better or equivalent product to replace it when my tub runs out. Anyone know any soothing face masks that are a bit lighter and more comforting??

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores

Sometimes I like a bit more of a deep treatment in a facemask. And for that reason, this Origins clay face mask works a treat. Per the Origins website, it draws out “deep-dwelling pore-cloggers”. Love that description, it sounds like something out of Harry Potter! The white clay “absorbs environmental toxins” and the Lecithin “dissolves impurities”. Having clear pores is something that has only recently become important to me when I have been trying to sort out my skin and so this face mask has been amazing for helping me achieve this.

I love the fact that the clay dries on your face and I love this sensation as you feel like it is actually doing something. You look a little scary but it’s worth it! One of my favourites! Everyone raves about this facemask and now I know why. Origins have recently brought out a new Ritual Tea face mask range and I am excited to try this!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask

Another Body Shop facemask to the rescue! This tea tree infused mask is also perfect for drawing out toxins and clearing pores. I love the cooling effect on the skin that the mask provides and it is slightly less intense than the Origins one. They are equally good though in my opinion. I like variety so I tend to just use whichever face mask my skin needs in that particular week.

The formula deeply cleanses the skin to fight against spots but also soothes and refreshes without drying the skin out. My skin loves the calming nature of this facemask and it was perfect during the summer months because of its cooling nature.

What are your favourite face masks? I would be interested to hear if there are any other great ones you use in your pamper sessions?
