January Favourites

It’s time for some January favourites! I feel January is a month of trying new things and fresh starts! I hope you have all had a great month. It has been a cold month and hence I have wrapped up warm with knitwear and faux fur. I have many favourites this month because I have been loving lots of things. I posted a Trying Out My Miniatures Blog post at the start of January and have found some hidden gems amongst them! I have also been enjoying skincare, food and fashion. I hope you enjoy my favourites this month!

Haircare:

NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil

Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Pureology Serious Colour Care Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner

Amongst my miniatures I found all these great products! I get my hair highlighted and so the Pureology Colour Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner were amazing for me to try. I didn’t know how much I would love them until I used them and they are both stunning. My hair honestly feels so soft after using them and they lather so well. Some purple shampoos I’ve used do not feel as nice when washing your hair and so I am tempted to repurchase this in the future!

Keeping in line with haircare, I have been loving blow drying my hair after putting a tiny amount of the Percy & Reed Wonder Balm through it. I have been using a round styling brush to try and blow dry it as straight as I can, so that I only have to use my straighteners slightly. It also means I have great volume to my barnet! I love this product and it is worth the hype it gets.

The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer has also proven a hit with me and when I want a bit more volume I have been using this to give it an extra pizzazz. It’s such a cult product and I can see why!

Finally, the NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil is such a stunning product. My hair has been loving this after blow drying to create a glossy look to my hair. I only need to rub in a little bit but it helps to reduce frizz and works wonders on my hair. My hair feels so healthy afterwards!

Skincare: Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

Studio 10 Miracle Effect Priming Serum

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-up Remover

Soft & Gentle 2 in 1 Shower & Shave Mousse

Moving onto skincare. Some more minis I have been loving throughout January feature this Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream and Studio 10 Miracle Effect Priming Serum. Both I have really been enjoying using, especially the Ren Cream. I was initially put off by the smell of the cream but in the end I loved it. It smells almost citrus like. My skin feels incredible after using it and it doesn’t upset my sensitive skin. I have been using it as a morning moisturiser and I will have to repurchase this when I run out as it is lovely! The priming serum was also a big hit with me as it made my skin feel so hydrated and perky. It claims to reduce dark circles and wrinkles. This all sounds good to me!

I have been using The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Make-up Remover for quite a while now and so I thought I would give it a little shout out! Recently when I went away I used a different product for taking my make up off and it was so exhaustingly time consuming as it didn’t take the makeup off very well. I always end up going back to this product as it is so gentle and soothing on my skin, yet takes off all that waterproof makeup! It honestly is my favourite way to do my first cleanse of my evening skincare routine.

Normally for shaving my legs I use a shaving gel and whilst this has worked well for me I didn’t know what I was missing until I tried Soft & Gentle 2 in 1 Shower and Shave Mousse. It is so stunning as it leaves my legs feeling silky soft and lathers up fantastically. I find it is lasting longer than a normal shaving gel too as I don’t need to use so much of it. I just can’t rate this enough! It is a little more expensive than the normal shaving products but in my opinion it is worth it!

Makeup:

Seventeen Waterproof Mascara In Black

I always find myself going back to this mascara and it has really been such a favourite throughout January. It is such a bargain at under £5 and it works so well! I love waterproof mascaras as my eyes can get quite watery whilst walking outside. This mascara is such a great one as it doesn’t clump, is waterproof, defines and separates your lashes and makes my eye lashes look fab. You need to check this mascara out! I don’t think it has been covered enough in the beauty blogging world!

Fashion:

Jack Wills Ariana Faux Fur Head Band

I had a little treat January online shopping spree recently and found this spectacular faux fur head band from Jack Wills. I paid under £10 for this and I have been obsessed with it ever since. We had such a cold week in the UK last week and this was an absolute lifesaver in keeping me snuggly whilst looking sophisticated at the same time. Love Love Love!

Food:

Oatly Oat Milk… Batista Edition

Rebel Kitchen Drinks

Cheese Topped Rolls from Ocado

January has been a good month for discovering some foodie items. Firstly, I have been really enjoying Rebel Kitchen Drinks, particularly the ones with screw top lids ha-ha! I teach violin and sometimes it is hard to get a break so I find if I am hungry I just drink one of these and they keep me going throughout the morning or afternoon. They are so tasty too and full of natural ingredients. I love the branding of Rebel Kitchen too!

Have you ever tried oat milk? I hadn’t until recently but it can make such a yummy alternative to milk. I use it for porridge or with granola. What I love doing though is making a chai latte or matcha latte and frothing up the milk. The Oatly Barista Edition is amazing and it creates such a gorgeous foam! If you have to avoid dairy but miss frothy drinks then I totally recommend this! Or if you just love discovering new milk alternatives like me then you will love this!

Finally in the food section, I thought I couldn’t go without featuring these cheese topped rolls from Ocado. They are honestly the tastiest thing! When I have one for lunch (with cheese in of course) it is like eating a cheese doughnut. So yummy! Obviously, I do not eat these every day but when I need a more filling roll, when I am eating my lunch in a rush on a train or something, these are perfect! They are also so inexpensive!

Entertainment:

The Crown

Last but not least, I have been obsessed with The Crown throughout January. I still have a few episodes left of it on Netflix but oh my it is stunningly produced, acted and directed. Claire Foy and Matt Smith are sublime in it and it Is just so perfectly choreographed. Each episode is exciting and it is really an unwinding sort of programme to watch on a cosy winter night indoors.
