Blogmas Petersham Nurseries

Petersham Nurseries is one of those magical places that makes you feel all warm and festive. It is a lovely place all time of year but at Christmas it really feels so special. It is based in Richmond and there is also a new shop, delicatessen, cellar and florist in Covent Garden.  I went to the Nursery at Richmond and was not disappointed.

The Shop

Full of trinkets, festive decorations, tableware and stationery, the shop is an Aladdin’s cave. Although some of the items are a little pricey, there are some great finds too. Whether you are thinking of adding some home touches or buying the perfect gift for someone, this is the place to source something a little bit more unique and thoughtful. I loved the array of Christmas ornaments and the beautiful cards that were on offer. I picked up some cosy pine cone decorations to decorate my home with.

The Delicatessen

The deli features homemade jams, chutneys, teas, coffees, biscuits and many more delicious offerings. These purchases make the perfect Christmas present. I really want to buy some homemade jam on my next visit.

The Florist

From seasonal wreaths to stunning bouquets, the flowers on offer here are exquisite. Definitely a special treat purchase, but the beautifully handtied flowers are so perfect. There also sell elegant vases with some quite affordable options.

Events

Petersham Nurseries hold events throughout the year. At Christmas, events such as wreath making and terrarium making sound so fun! Their events get booked up quite quickly so if you want to go I would book early.

Dining

The stunning restaurant serves a sublime quality of food. There is also a café, which we went to and had the most delicious homemade cake. It was truly one of the nicest cakes I had tried containing pumpkin and almond.

My Overall Impression

Although a little busy at weekends, Petersham Nurseries is one of those places that oozes character and charm. From the rustic yet cosy café tables to the elegant shop items, this place is worth a visit. I have a few negatives about the toilets (they are outdoor ones) and there is not much parking (although you can park in the nearby car park near Ham House). However, I would still go again and it is one place that everyone would enjoy as there is lots to offer!
