Chewton Glen Restaurant

Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa is known for its amazing hospitality and the food there is one of the main highlights. Me and my boyfriend were lucky enough to stay in their Treehouse as my boyfriend surprised me for my 30th birthday. See my blog here if you are interested in seeing the snaps from that. We felt it was right to eat in their restaurant called The Dining Room. There is also another restaurant on site called The Kitchen which is equally amazing if you fancied visiting there too.

At The Dining Room, fine dining is the key but the atmosphere is still very much welcoming yet classy. Many of the ingredients are sourced from the hotel’s very own kitchen garden. This means the meals taste amazingly fresh and delicious. I was stunned at the precision and amount of flavour to our meals.

On the menu….

Me……

Trio of Cauliflower

Valrhona Chocolate & Orange Mousse

Owen…..

Wild Sea Bass, Asparagus, Jersey Royals, Sorrel, Caviar

Burnt Cambridge Cream, Banana, Pecan, Amaretto Ice Cream

Can I just mention here that the cauliflower heart dish I ate was one of the best vegetarian meals I have had in a long time. I love to eat vegetarian when I am out and the flavour of the cauliflower was just incredible. The dish itself had so many interesting elements to it including homemade gnocchi. The chocolate and orange mousse was also divine, with a vibrant orange centre that left a sweet tang in the mouth. I also tried Owen’s meal and it was equally amazing.

If you are ever in New Milton for a special occasion then I would highly recommend visiting Chewton Glen. You could go for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, or even a cheeky scone and tea. It really is the most relaxing atmosphere overlooking the peaceful grounds. You can even watch bunny rabbits hop across the grass in front of your vision and if that isn’t idyllic then nothing is!
