What I Got For Christmas 2018

Better late than never but I really wanted to show you what I got for Christmas! I love reading these types of blog posts so I thought you might like to read what I received. I was so lucky this year and I felt overwhelmed by the generosity and thought from those close to me. I felt it right to show my gratitude by writing this blog post so let’s get started!

From My Sister And Her Partner…

My sister always chooses me thoughtful presents that I love. She has great taste and I can see she has spent time choosing things to gift me. I had a couple of things on my wish list like a mug and flask and the ones she picked are so pretty and elegant. I’m particularly excited about using the flask for soup as I’m starting a new teaching post on Fridays which means I will have to have a liquid lunch due to timings etc. I’m also so excited to try the Neal’s Yard Organic Face wipes and Wild Rose Beauty Balm. Both I’ve heard great things about! The face wipes are great for travel and the cleansing balm sounds dreamy (it is one of their cult products)! She also picked me up a Neom candle (it smells heavenly!) and some yummy granola from a farm shop she visits. Such thoughtful presents!

My Boyfriend…

I was stunned by these gifts as not only had he taken a long time to research them and source them, but he was extremely kind. The main present was a new iPhone. It is a lot more than we normally spend on each other but my iPhone has been playing up for a while now. I would get to work and then my battery would be down to 40% by the end of my teaching without even using it! I didn’t expect to see this under the tree but I’m so grateful as it really is a worry off my mind. I did used to use a portable phone charger and charge it several times a day but this makes my life so much easier. Plus, the camera and screen is so much better for blogging! My last iPhone was a 5s model so I guess it did last a good test of time! Owen also got me some thermal socks and reindeer socks (as he knows how cold I get).. and some cute Hotel Chocolat chocolates – our favourite are the clementine chocolates. We did stockings for each other and also inside mine was a Crabtree & Evelyn 60 seconds fix for hands (an essential for me during winter) and also a Jo Malone body cream (I’ve always wanted to own a Jo Malone product). Another thoughtful gift was a “Habits” book from Kikki.K. Kikk.K does lovely stationery and their self-help / mindful books are great for those that struggle with anxiety like me. I can’t wait to use this to set goals and help with ironing out any negative habits.

My Boyfriend’s Parents…

A couple of these presents are joint – the chocolate and the vase but I felt it right to talk about them as they are amazing! We wanted to try the Booja Booja Gourmet Truffles Selection and were delighted to receive this from our wish list. They are vegan truffles and I’ve tried their normal chocolate truffle before, and they are stunning! We also asked for a cylindrical vase that was big enough to fit flowers without them being overcrowded. This copper one from Habitat is stunning and I cannot wait to buy us some flowers to put inside! A present that I know Owen’s mum chose that I was so excited by was The Sunday Times Style – The India Knight Beauty Box. I’d not heard of this box before and there are some great skincare products inside. I’ll be making a blog post on it soon so if you want to know more about it stay tuned!

My Parents…

My parents gave me so many lovely things this year. My mum always chooses some lovely items from The Body Shop and this coconut soap and shea butter hand cream smell dreamy. I also received an IT Cosmetics concealer that I had on my wish list and a Yope Verbena natural hand soap. I can’t wait to try these! Another useful present that was joint was a new small frying pan which I’ve already used and it amazing. It’s non-stick which is so much better for cooking with! I’m also excited for the owl reusable bag my mum put in my stocking. I’m most looking forward to trying my new Violin “Strad Pad” which is essentially a cushion you put on the violin chinrest to reduce skin irritation on the neck. I always get a red neck when I practice violin and it can look like a love bite so every help at reducing it is much appreciated! The Great British Bake Off calendar I got is also already up on my wall. It includes lots of recipes which I am going to try and make each month. I can’t wait for this! I also got lots of little stocking bits which I am grateful for like chocolate!

I really hope you enjoyed this! I haven’t put any links to items I was gifted as I don’t want to spoil the surprise. However, if you would like me to find any then let me know in the comments below and I will try and find them for you!
