December Favourites

I seem to have missed doing a Favourites blog for a few months but I really like doing them as it makes me appreciate all the good things I’ve been enjoying recently and what better month to get back into it than December? Winter is one of my favourite times of year and being cosy indoors with some pamper products is just the best! So, lets get started! Here’s what I’ve been enjoying throughout December…

Cosy Knits

I LOVE being warm and as quite a cold person jumpers are essential all times of year for me. However, I feel in December you can dig out those super thick warm clothes! I love my Banana Republic black cable knit jumper and blue Topshop jumper that I got both last year.  There are always so many beautiful jumpers out there. If I didn’t already have a full wardrobe I would buy some more creams but I think I have plenty of clothes for the moment so I will resist!

Candles, Candles and More Candles…..

I’ve been really enjoying getting cosy in the evenings (or afternoons to be honest…) by lighting a scented candle. It makes me feel instantly calm and happy. Sometimes it’s the little things in life but I love the room feeling like that little dash of winter. My favourite candle at the moment is Yankee Candle Fireside Treats – perfect “marshmallows toasted on the fire” scents! I wrote a blog about my festive candles here if you want to take a look!

Warm Breakfasts

Porridge is SUCH a lovely start to the day for me at the moment. I love it with hazelnut milk topped with berries! It is also a nice healthy way to start the day to try and balance out the Christmas indulgence!

Beauty Advent Calendar

I never used to do advent calendars, not even a chocolate one. I used to make my own when I was little which was really fun actually as I would break up cubes of milk chocolate and put them into little cut out cardboard doors. However, this year my boyfriend treated me to this incredible beauty advent calendar by Marks & Spencer. If M&S do them next year, you should check it out as it is the best value calendar out there without falling in quality. I have discovered so many new products that I have wanted to try for ages and it gives me a great opportunity to do that without buying the full-size versions on a whim. Thank you boyfriend!

Hand cream

I don’t know about you but my hands are so so dry at the moment. I suffer from eczema and so I need a pretty good quality hand cream at this time of year. I tend to use several at once as some are lighter and some are more intense. I tend to use whatever I need at the time but I’m loving the Neals Yard Bee Lovely Hand Cream at the moment which I got in my advent beauty calendar. The scent is gorgeous and really festive! The orange oil helps nourish my hands without making them feel greasy – perfect!

Winter Cosy Evenings

I love winter as I can snuggle up with a throw, fluffy socks and cosy pyjamas. I just love feeling warm and cosy! I couldn’t do without my Next throw which I actually bought several years ago. Not only is it soft and warm but it looks pretty and has cute pom poms on!

Chubby Stick Lip Balm, Body Scrubs and Body Butters

Moving onto pampering… My lips and body are so dry at the moment and I find I need to moisturise that little bit more. I am really loving the Body Shop Shea Butter as it gives you an intense moisture hit and feels so indulgent. I am also enjoying the Super Beauty Raspberry & Cranberry Body Scrub as it just smells like Christmas! For my lips I have been devoted to my Chubby Stick Lip Balms by Clinique. My Favourite shade is Baby Tint. I just find the Chubby Sticks so easy to remember to reapply throughout the day without getting sticky fingers!

Coconut Oil

Last but not least, I am absolutely obsessed with coconut oil this month. I use it in my hair before washing it as I find the water in London makes my hair SO dry. You definitely need to use more conditioner in London! It is always such a treat when I stay at my parents as the water makes my hair so soft. I have also been loving cooking with coconut oil, especially in baking or cooking vegetables for curries (using a separate tub of course…).

I hope you enjoyed my favourites and I will try and get back into the habit of doing them monthly again! What have you been appreciating throughout December?
