Trying Out My Beauty #2

For those of you that read my blog, you will remember me writing a Trying Out My Miniatures #1. It seemed to go done well and I really enjoyed doing it. I discovered some little gems tucked away in my beauty box and it made me appreciate things I actually own and hence I spent less on beauty! So, I have decided to bring it back in February but this time call it trying out my “beauty”… as they ain’t all miniatures!

What I Found…

bareMinerals The Blender Brush

I bought this eye shadow blending brush a while back but have never used it. I think I forgot I owned it…. However, I am SO excited to use it. The bristles of the brush feel divine and I am so excited to blend out my eyeshadow to create a seamless look. I’ll let you know how I get on with this!

Bourjois Paris 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream

I’m really after a hydrating concealer for underneath my eyes and when I discovered this in my makeup collection I was excited to delve in and try it. I am really paranoid about my “smile wrinkles” and anything that can help with that while they are only little is worth trying. My skin is so dry on my face at the moment during these cold wintery days and so this hydrating formula looks amazing to help that!

Collistar Rossetto Art Design Lipstick in 2 Nudo

I received this gorgeous lipstick for Christmas from my boyfriend’s parents. It is absolutely stunning and it looks seriously elegant. The packaging is so breathtaking with this moulded “twist” gold and silver artistic case. It is seriously a striking lipstick. It comes all the way from Italy and is said to hold a creamy texture with a vibrant colour. This sounds amazing! I have been saving trying this gem for a special occasion but why not use the things we own and live luxury anyway! I am so excited to use this!

Pixi Brow Tamer

I’ve heard great things about the Pixi brow tamer and love to use brow products. My brows are fair but when I get my eyebrows tinted I find I can get away with relying on the colour for a few days that they apply. I think the Pixi brow tamer will be great applied to set my brows with or without a brow pencil underneath it. There is aloe vera and I love this ingredient as it soothes and hydrates the brow brilliantly. I used this the other day and I was so impressed with the formula as it felt very light and tamed my brows into place. A great little treat from the M&S Beauty Advent Calendar I got last December.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black

From one advent calendar gem to this one, I have been so intrigued to try out the Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner. I thought February was a great time to try it! The fine brush looks amazing for a precise flick. It also claims to be smudge-proof and long lasting. I will report back with my findings but I have high hopes for this.

Laboratoires Filorga Paris Time-Filler Absolute Wrinkle Correction Cream

I’ve been noticing a few smile wrinkles under my eyes of late and whilst they are only small I am getting quite petrified by this! In rolls in this anti-wrinkle cream from my December Advent calendar. It couldn’t have come at a better time and I am eager to try it! Have any of you used this before? How do you apply it amongst your usual skincare routine? I’m not sure if this is suitable for under the eyes as it seems to be a standard moisturiser but I will investigate it!

Crabtree & Evelyn Nantucket Briar Bath and Shower Gel

I’ve had this mini shower gel for a good few years now and I don’t know why I haven’t used this before! I tend to stick to my usual Nivea and Dove creamy shower gels due to my sensitive skin but sometimes it’s nice to mix it up a bit and this product sounds amazing for just that! It contains nourishing ingredients including linden flower, mallow, jojoba oil and honey. It is also pH balanced so this sounds really great for me!

Balance Me Collagen Boost Flash Cleanse Micellar Water

I received this micellar water free with an order but have never used it due to having lots of makeup removers. I recently ran out of my The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover and so thought I would give this a try. So far I am super impressed as it feels soothing and yet removes my makeup well. The smell is a little similar to antiseptic but I think I can cope with that. What I love is the pump as you literally place a cotton wool pad on the dispenser and push down – so satisfying! It contains soothing camomile and mandarin essential oil whilst giving a collagen boost too. This may be another favourite makeup remover… I will keep you posted!

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

I recently discovered moringa as an ingredient in food and love the powder’s powers as it is a rich source of magnesium, iron and vitamin E. It also has many other great qualities which I talked about in my January SourcedBox Review. I was fascinated to discover this beautiful ingredient was in this cleansing balm! If you have seen my Christmas Eve Blog you would recognise this little Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and I said I was going to use it on Christmas Eve. Well, that never happened so I am going to try it out this month. I might take it with me on a weekend away as it is great for travel. I have heard GREAT things about this product so I am looking forward to seeing what it is like for taking makeup off.

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara

I received this little sample of MAC false lashes mascara a while back and normally just stick to my waterproof mascara from Seventeen. This MAC mascara however looks great for an evening look when I want a bit more of an elaborate vibe. It is a mousse consistency so this pushes the lashes up to create extreme volume. I have long eyelashes but when I want a little more of a filled-out effect I will be reaching for this.

Rosie For Autograph Lip Glossy in Super Model Smile

Another fabulous beauty product from my Christmas Advent calendar. I think M&S just went above and beyond with the 2016 advent calendar. I love Rosie for Autograph and her products are always so luxury. This lip glossy sounds amazing and the cushiony feel promised is just my cup of tea. I used this the other night for the evening and my lips felt so nourished, whilst giving them a splash of colour. I also love how these lip products are suitable for vegans and are paraben and alcohol free. Perfect!
