Let’s Talk Hair

I often get complimented on my hair and so I thought I would share with you my hair maintenance secrets. The water in London is so drying on my hair and so I have to really work hard to get some moisture into it. I don’t wash it every day as that is bad for your hair and I have developed a healthy routine to share with you below. I hope you like it and find it useful!

I tend not to buy shampoo and conditioner too often as I only wash my hair twice a week. So, I like to use one set for colour retention as I have my hair highlighted and one set geared towards nourishment and frizz prevention. I have found the products above are so great for this purpose.

The Pureology coloured hair geared products as super nourishing and leave my hair silky soft, whilst also trying to prevent brassy tones in my highlighted hair.

I love the Frizz Miracle Shampoo by Aussie and the Australian blue gum leaves in it tame my frizzy locks. I am thinking of trying out their conditioners too as I have heard great things about them and am super impressed by this shampoo. For now though, I am loving the “Fondant” conditioner by Kérastase. It really does wonders on my super dry London hard water hair!

Before I wash my hair I like to apply coconut oil to the whole length (except the scalp). This really helps to make my hair extra soft and it doesn’t cost much to do. I bought a HUGE jar of coconut oil last summer and I still have about 2/3 left of it!

After showering, I like to sometimes use my Percy & Reed Wonder Balm if I am blow drying it straight. This product works wonders to help me style my hair more effectively. I also love using the VO5 heat protection spray to prevent hair damage from hairdryers and straighteners.

When my hair is styled I finish it off with some oil (I love the argan oil by VO5). I also use this oil if I am letting my hair dry naturally as it helps sort out my frizz. If I am having a flat hair day or I don’t have time to wash it, I like to use the volumising dry shampoo by Percy & Reed. It is super sleek and does the job really well!
