Acai Bowl Recipe

Acai fruit is such a vibrant superfood. It is rich in antioxidants, high in vitamin A and so it contributes to a healthy immune system. It also contains iron and calcium so is great for healthy blood flow and strong bones. The high content of potassium also makes it great for reducing blood pressure and hence lowering stress levels. Potassium is also great for muscle contraction which helps the body relax and decrease muscle cramps.

Below I have created an acai bowl recipe for you to have a go at. I love making this on a Sunday for breakfast and it is so yummy! It is basically a smoothie in a bowl made to look so beautiful that you just can wait to dive in. I hope you like it!

Recipe (serves 2)

4 frozen bananas

175ml coconut drink

2tbsp acai powder

2tbsp baobab powder

50g blackberries

50g blueberries


1 dessert spoon peanut butter (I love Meridian Peanut Butter as it is 100% peanuts, no salt, no nasties)

1 dessert spoon of desiccated coconut

1 dessert spoon cacao nibs

Small handful of blackberries and blueberries



  • Take the bananas out of the freezer about 30 minutes before you want to make this. This will make it easier to blend them.
  • Using a food processor, whizz up the ingredients until smooth.
  • Spoon the mixture between two bowls and sprinkle with your chosen toppings.
