Current Skincare Routine

I love skincare and it’s something I look forward to applying each day. Looking after your skin is so important as you only get one body! I also love the pampering side of a routine. I like the calmness at the beginning and end of the day where I can feel a little bit more refreshed and energised. There is something said about feeling good in your skin.

Recently I’ve been trying different products out. I had built up quite a few mini skincare items and so my routine has changed a little. I thought it would be interesting to share with you what I have been using lately! I have sensitive and dry skin, so I tend to choose products that reflect this!

Morning Routine

Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash | Simple

I use this face wash first thing in the morning in the shower. It is really gentle and foams up so well. It lasts for ages as you don’t need to use much! I’d highly recommend this for sensitive skin as I’ve used it for years and my skin seems to love it.

Skinlongevity Serum Essence | Bare Minerals

I’ve gone on about this serum before and I really just LOVE it, especially in the summer when the weather has been so dehydrating. This is made using plant extracts and it really is my favourite serum ever. It is pricey but it last ages as you don’t need to use too much. I tend to purchase it when it is on offer online which is a good trick!

GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff | Origins

Next thing I do is apply eye cream along the orbital bone below the eye and just below the eyebrow, using my ring fingers. I’ve been using this eye cream by origins as it is such a popular product. After trying it I actually prefer the thicker texture of the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado but I still like it nonetheless. It is still refreshing, especially after a poor night’s sleep! I’d be interested to know any eye cream recommendations in the comments that are good for anti-ageing, as fine lines are definitely something I’m worried about as I get older!

Soothing Starflower Daily Moisture | Neal’s Yard

My final step in my morning skincare routine has been this Neal’s Yard Face Cream. The formula is so light which is perfect for day time before applying sun cream during the warmer months. I love how gentle yet luxurious this cream is, and it contains ingredients such as aloe vera, starflower and alpine flower. I love this cream!

Evening Routine

Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water | Simple

To remove my makeup, I have been using this hydrating miscellar water by Simple. I love Simple miscellar waters as they just work and don’t dry out my skin.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter | The Body Shop

For a deeper second cleanse I’ve been using this cleansing butter by The Body Shop and it is so comforting on my skin. It makes my skin feel silky soft!

Ultra Repair Face Moisturiser | First Aid Beauty

After applying the same serum and eye cream as my morning routine, I’ve been going for a more intense moisturiser for the evening. The First Aid Beauty cream is so lovely for sensitive skin. I feel extremely hydrated after applying this. It is thick and rich, yet fast absorbing. It is also free from parabens, sulphates, synthetic ingredients and petrochemicals. I would highly recommend this cream, especially if you suffer from dry skin and other conditions like eczema.

I hope you enjoyed my skincare routine! Have you used any of these products before?

First Aid Beauty has loads of great stuff — I am using an eye cream by them right now and I really love it. I’ve used a few cleansers as well as some masks by them and I’ve loved everything. I also love that they aren’t incredibly expensive either!

    Great post! x

I love the Body Shop cleansing butter and I always use it for a deeper clean after micellar water too! I deal with eczema and have gone around in circles trying to find a good nighttime moisturiser so think I may give the First Aid one a go! Fab post, thanks! X
