Blogmas Day 10… Festive Afternoon Tea

What is cosier than a festive treat out somewhere special? My boyfriend had an afternoon tea voucher for his birthday and we decided to use it in December because of how Christmassy it would be. It was for The Hilton in Park Lane and so we were very excited about how amazing it would be! It was such a great idea to go at Christmas time as they decorated the tables with mini trees which was so adorable. They also added little touches like nutcracker figures and decorative displays throughout the restaurant….

I do love an afternoon tea but this one seemed so unique from other’s I’ve been to before.  The savoury items came before the sweet which I thought was a great idea. I always get a bit overwhelmed when everything arrives at once! In our afternoon tea we even had a little shortbread snowman. Everything was so elegant and perfectly detailed. The scones were probably one of my favourite ones I have had out because they were fluffy and light to eat. We were very full afterwards, so you definitely get your money’s worth! The service was also excellent, and the tea selection included some lovely decaf options too.

The menu was a chocolate afternoon tea which is always amazing. It was designed by Bake Off: The Professionals, 2018 Emmanuel and Sam. The treats included a Pina Colada Cheesecake, a Coconut Sphere With Brazilian Chocolate, and a Mandarin & Milk Chocolate Log. You can take a look at the menu online too but trust me this is one afternoon tea worth going to.

The surroundings were also so relaxing with plenty of room between the tables. I hate it when restaurants are so crammed, and the tables are so close. This was spacious and calm. Of course, The Hilton is going to be incredible and we were so lucky to go there.

Is this the type of afternoon tea you would like?
