Blogmas Day 20… My Christmas Decorations

I asked on Instagram if people wanted me to write a Christmas decorations blog post with photos of my festive decorating and there was a resounding yes! So, here we are! It Is very similar to last year; however, I have added a few small additions. I think it’s so important to reuse previous years’ decorations, but I do think it is nice to add to your collection each year. This year we spent under £25, including our mini £12 tree from Flying Tiger. You can see what I bought in my little Flying Tiger Haul here. I’m so pleased with the way it looks and we are feeling really cosy and festive at home now.

The Tree

This year, we bought a mini artificial tree that we can reuse year after year. It is perfect as we have to be savvy with space in our home and it fits perfectly on our TV stand. I just love the little wrapped hessian affect at the base too. We got ours from Flying Tiger which is a great shop for affordable but great quality items. I also picked up some cute baubles from there – one that looked like Owen and one that looked like me. I think they are adorable and add so much character to our tree without looking tacky. We also used baubles that we had left over from a Bloom & Wild tree a few Christmas’s ago and some we bought last year in a shop called Farrago. The star at the top is also from Farrago last year.

Christmas Candles

Last year we made a little candle feature with festive potpourri and this year we have reused them. We popped in a new candle into our festive candle holder and it makes me feel so festive. I’ve also scattered a few candles around, some with little wreath decorations surrounding them. I think this looks lovely. My favourite candle to burn is the Fireside Treats by Yankee Candle as it smells delicious like toasted marshmallows. It is not too sweet but makes the place smell heavenly.

Decorative Features

We got given an LED light card holder from Owen’s mum and we have popped some of our cards on there. We have also reused some cute star pegs and string we had too. I love how much character it brings without being too over the top. This year I also bought a festive jar from Flying Tiger and I popped in some LED lights I had purchased from Oliver Bonas a while back. They look so elegant and festive. To finish, we dotted around some snowy pine cones from last year (Petersham Nurseries) , hung our stockings up and placed some candy canes around. I just love how it has come together.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our decorations! What’s your favourite bit? How have you decorated this year?
