Week of blogs #6 … Luxury Skincare and Tips for Healthy Skin

We only have one day of my blogging week left! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.

Have you ever used L’OCCITANE beauty products before? If not, this might convince you to try them! This is not a sponsored post by the way and all opinions are my own. Apart from it definitely being a luxury brand and therefore quite expensive for everyday, I really wanted to treat myself a while back. That was at the end of May….. Now I have used up the existing products I was using and have started trialing these, I feel like I have got a good impression of how they apply and feel on my face. I also have a few tips on how I get healthy looking skin.

Let me know what you think of these products too!

L’OCCITANE Immortelle Milk Makeup Remover

I have mentioned this makeup remover before and it is so so good! It is expensive and whilst I don’t have the budget to buy this every day, it was certainly an excellent birthday treat at the time! It is so delicate and soothing on my skin. On the website, they describe that it “eliminates traces of makeup and impurities in one easy step”. The Immortelle floral water helps to soothe the face and creates glowing and beautiful looking skin. My face has definitely felt a million dollars after using this product!

L’OCCITANE Shea Face Comforting Oil

You can apply a face oil before your moisturiser to really nourish the skin and prep it for a face cream. As my skin has been really bad on one side of my face lately, this I swear has helped me so much! I still have a long way to go with my skin but this product really has soothed and “comforted” it, reducing the redness and bumpiness. I only bought a sample size of 5 ml and am nearly out of it. I have only recently been using it. I may be tempted to buy some more as my skin loves this stuff!

L’OCCITANE Shea Light Comforting Face Cream

I had tried this face cream before and whilst I ran out a while back I waited for a special occasion to buy some more. It is really the best ever face cream I have tried. I have combination sensitive/dry/normal skin and so this product just soothes it without any irritation. My skin feels so nourished after using this. It makes my skin glow and look really healthy. I also notice how much better my makeup applies after applying this before!

L’OCCITANE Precious Eye Balm

This was a new try for me and the product promises to “smooth, firm and reduce dark circles and puffiness” underneath the eyes. As I am in my mid-late 20’s wrinkles are a concern to me. Because I have blue eyes I squint a lot and so unfortunately this means wrinkles are on the horizon haha! I want to do everything in my power to fight it. I feel like if you are going to invest in anything beauty wise it should be your face because of that famous saying “ you only get one of them”!

My tips for healthy skin

Drink plenty of water! If you don’t like water then flavour it with something like elderflower cordial, mint or cucumber. I often have a sparkling water with elderflower cordial during the day.

Get lots of sleep – something I don’t often do unfortunately due to my anxiety and active mind.

Eat a healthy diet – I love berries with my breakfast. I also try and have a varied diet of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit etc. Even vegans though can get a nutritional balance by taking supplements and incorporating more of certain food groups into their diet.

Moisturize – skin can really become dry and dull without moisture added to it. With so many of us having more than one shower a day it is so important to look after your skin and treat it to some nourishment. It also helps fight spots and other skin care problems.

Do get products for your skin type though! It is always good to know how your skin reacts to different products and what its characteristics are. If you don’t have time to moisturize every day, at least do it every few days to give it a bit of a pamper. It is quite relaxing to do too and you feel so spoilt after!

Pop back tomorrow for my last weekly blog this week! xx
